Living Memorial Center Fundraising
As a key part of our fundraising for the centre Stuart Greaves, an ex-soldier from the mainland who has become a very close friend of the group, is carrying out a walk along the Pennine Way in the north of England (268 miles). This project has the backing of a number of prominent mainland politicians from a cross-party background.
One element of this will be a memorial stone which is specifically in memory of those who died while serving in the RUC, UDR and mainland regiments. It is our desire that sufficient recognition is given for the many forgotten men who were slaughtered at the hands of terrorists while serving their country.
Help us help the families of murdered RUC, UDR and Regular Soldiers remember their loved ones who gave so much.
Please forward any donations to our bank account in Markethill and please notify our office. The Bank account details are as follows:
Any donations above £100 will result in the donors name being engraved on a plaque in the centre. We will list all contributors to the funding in a book of thanks which will be published when the building is opened. We hope that you will help us either by giving directly or by seeking sponsorship for the walk which will take place before September 2002. To obtain a sponsorship form please phone or write to us in Markethill.
If anyone wishes confirmation for this project they can contact the Shadow Secretary of State for Northern Ireland or one of the following: Frank Field MP, Lembit Opik MP, Lawrence Robertson MP, John Wilkinson MP or Lord Tebbit.
