Halloween Riots - A Message From Republicans

Last night, South Armagh was taken over by Republicans discontent with any policing at all. A number of attacks took place in several towns, where police and police stations were attacked viciously. In Crossmaglen, vehicles were damaged and the police were forced to withdraw. In Newtownhamilton, petrol bombs were thrown for the first time during the troubles. A lorry was also burnt out too. There were also other disturbances in Bessbrook for example. All the towns concerned were littered with the aftermath of the rioting this morning.

Local Republican thugs are sending a clear message to police that they are not safe in these areas. How will the normal citizen be safe in South Armagh when the police themselves are not safe to carry out their necessary duties. Policing in these areas needs to be handed back to the PSNI and policing needs to be enforced.
