Two delegates from south Armagh victims group FAIR are attending the Second International Terrorist Victims Congress being held on the 23,24 February in Bogota, Colombia. William Frazer was invited to attend the summit, held last year in Madrid, in order to put across the perspective of Northern Ireland's victims.
So far they have been able to meet with a number of organisations and individuals working with victims of terrorism and those that have suffered from the like of Sinn Fein/IRAs sister organisation FARC who have murdered so many innocent people in their Marxist revolutionary struggle. It is hoped that firm bonds of friendship and assistance will develop from these encounters, which will be to the mutual benefit of the organisations involved.
The Congress will be a gathering of over 1000 delegates from across the world, with keynote speakers including nobel prize winner David Trimble, ironically responsible for allowing terrorist prisoners out of jail without any firm commitment or action from their organisations. It is hoped the warm reception received so far will extend to the duration of the trip.
