Anger Over Rally Snub

Belfast City Councils refusal to allow the use of Woodvale Park for a rally on 29th October has angered many across the Province. As representatives from the victims sector we are enraged as collectively we were playing a major part in the "Love Ulster" demonstration including leading an act of Remembrance.

The SDLP and Sinn Fein have shown naked sectarianism by refusing access to a park in a Protestant area. The SDLP in particular misquoted a statement by me and claimed that "paramilitaries were welcome to the rally". In reality what I said was "Paramilitary groups are not welcome, however, individuals are".

As a representative for victims of paramilitary violence I am no hypocrite - the SDLP insult me and the people I represent. They are the people who voted to let murderes out of jail, they are the people who are encouraging criminals into Government and the police force.

I would like to send a message to the SDLP, Sinn Fein and Mr Hain (ex troops out movement), victims paid the price for peace through the ritualistic humiliation dished out by the British Government in recent years, the world will hear our voice and no one shall silence us.
