Victims have recently noticed an increase in calls for public enquiries into so-called ‘shoot to kills’. However no one disputes that those who were shot in ‘shoot to kills’ were involved in terrorist activities. We will therefore give support to any enquiry called for, on the condition that the families of those shot tender information about the murderous activities their loved ones embarked upon.
Many innocent victims suffered at the hands of those that were shot and the innocent victims must maintain priority in any enquiry. If any enquiry were to occur it should be on the basis that it exposes the whole truth about those shot and not just a part which is convienat to their families. An example of such a case were evidence was given is that of Mr Grew a well known terrorist who was ‘shot to kill’ by the security forces. A few weeks earlier Mr Grew was identified as having been responsible for shooting two police officers dead in Markethill.
We are currently considering legal advice with regards to the so-called ‘shoot to kills’. We have been advised that there is a case to argue that any assets inherited as the result of a ‘shoot to kill’ be seized for distribution to innocent victims. We will pursue the terrorists and those who support them through the legal system.
It is one thing to call for an enquiry but another to reject the truth. Those who are demanding an enquiry into ‘shoot to kills’ are not so forthright in asking for an enquiry into the weapons carried at Loughgall which were ultimately responsible for the murder of 100 to 120 people.
We can respect a call for truth but that must involve full exposure of all the facts. We cannot emphaise enough how sickened Innocent victims are when they hear demands for enquiries into ‘shot to kills’ the sad fact remains that had the security forces not intiated a policy to deal with these terrorists then many more innocent victims would have been killed. You want enquires then lets have them!
