McGuinness runs scared of Victims

A number of weeks ago FAIR put the new Sinn Fein/IRA joint first minister Martin McGuinness on the spot.

Having read the obligation he took and the duties he now has we conclude there is a statutory obligation on him to provide evidence and all material assistance to victims of the SF/IRA.

The first and most pressing issue is the case victims have launched against Libya. As a self confessed terrorist commander and a member of the PIRA Army Council McGuinness has intimate knowledge of the PIRA – Libyan relationship and the nature of support given by the Libyan state.

However the Joint First Minister has refused to reply to our letters. We as victims ask what he has to fear. After all he and his party led a march for Truth a few weeks ago now this is his chance to tell the truth.

Is McGuinness afraid of his victims – what can’t he handle about the truth?

Perhaps he has to consult with the other First Minister Mr Paisley to agree a position that will dispose of this matter.

Let victims be clear this issue will not go away.

Unless we have full co-operation from McGuinness we will be forced to take him to court for failure to discharge his legal duties.
