Ten Men One Evening

In the stillness of this morning
Standing on this country road
Once travelled by a mini bus
With such a precious load
Husbands, Sons and Fathers
Heading home that night
Lined up and shot by Irelands sons
Not a chance to fight

We stand today to honour you
And honour you we should

Though years have come and years have gone
Since that fateful night
It was an act of satan
And never can be right
Stand firm, hold fast
Don't ever walk away
For the men who did this deed
Will be judged by God someday

When we leave to go our separate ways
Each one to his home
Spare a thought for ulsters sons
Lying quietly in the tomb
They lived, they loved, they worked, they died
And died before their time
Lets try to live out all our days
Worthy of men so fine.

A poem by Pastor Halliday read aloud at the Kingmills roadside memorial service today.

FAIR Director William Frazer at the roadside memorial to the 10 murdered men.
