Announcement on investigation into Kingsmills massacre

A commemoration service is being held at the site of the Kingsmills massacre tomorrow (Friday). It will mark the 32nd anniversary of the massacre in which 10 Protestant men were murdered on their way home from work.

FAIR will make a significant announcement after the service relating to the investigation into the murders and will at long last give encouragement to the families.

Ten years ago FAIR made a promise to the families to do everything in our power to make sure people were brought to account for what took place that night. It will be nice to see the smiles on the faces of families, knowing that after 30 years believing they would not see justice there is now light at the end of the tunnel. It will also send down a message to republicans in south Armagh that their acts of mass murder, kidnap, torture and genocide will not go unpunished.

Friday’s service will be conducted by Rev. David McMillan assisted by Pastor Barrie Halliday.

Everyone from the community is invited to attend as the entire community has suffered at the hands of terrorists. We ask all those attending to be in place no later than 10.45 a.m. The service beings at 11 a.m.
