FAIR responds to the Garda handling of the Ludlow case. This family deserved an apology for the clandestine handling of this investigation by Police in the Republic. The case was never followed up because it would be a landmark case and allow scores of IRA men living in the Republic to be questioned about attacks in the North.
This is just one case which is rightly entitled to an enquiry, but what of the many others of innocents slaughtered by the murder gangs traversing the border at leisure.
We now demand a full enquiry into the numerous serial killers allowed to sit and drink in County Louth pubs while their victims families were left to pick up the pieces of shattered lives.
